Survey for MoKan Hosted NAMA Creative Summit/Workshop The MoKan NAMA Chapter would like to expand its programs to include information catering to creative staffs. This could include topics such about current agricultural issues, ways to focus creative energies and ways to better work with other areas of your agency or business. Please complete the survey at http://www.nama.org/chapters/mokansurvey.htm to help us plan a Creative Summit/Workshop. Please forward this survey to the creative staff at your place of business, so we may gain a better understanding of interest and needs for this workshop. Dear Adopted Family Partners, Christmas is a wonderful time of the year. Many people are sharing and buying and thoughts of sugar plums dance in the children’s heads. Yet, when you are down and out and in need as the families are, it creates worries and concerns that others do not have. Therefore, it is with a grateful heart that I say thank you for wanting to share a part of your Christmas with us. Below are some guidelines when purchasing your gifts. We ask that you do what you feel comfortable doing, but keep in mind the situation of the family you have adopted. For example, thoughtful yet practical items would be a better use of your money than expensive, lavish gifts. Through our program, we try to give each child at least 2 gifts. If a gift you purchase requires batteries, please include them. Also avoid gifts that require difficult assembly. Please bring the packages unwrapped, (you may supply wrapping paper if you wish) so the parents can wrap them and be a part of their childs Christmas. Due to lack of space here at the Southland Corps we ask you to purchase grocery store food gift certificate for the Christmas meal instead of food. When you drop off your families items, please have any gift certificates in an envelope with the family number marked on it so it can be attached to their paperwork. Too many times a parent has opened a gift to them to find their gift certificate for their Christmas meal on Christmas morning. This way they will have it in hand and know what they have for a meal. Another problem is that gift cards get lost in the bags and get thrown away. Please send a copy of the receipt for any gift cards. We will keep those on file at The Salvation Army. We have had several in the past that had not been activated and we have no way to show that it is a valid card. We can help them resolve this problem if it arises.
Please deliver the gifts for our families to The Grandview Plaza Shopping Center at
12905 M S 71 Highway. Grandview, MO. It is located on the northeast corner of Main St and If you need to make other arrangements, please phone me and we can set something up. The families will be coming in to pick up their Christmas gifts on Tuesday, Dec. 18th. We want to wish you a very Merry Christmas and may the blessings of God rest upon you this Christmas and all the year through.
